Places to Eat and Party |
This page includes information on where to find a good cup of coffee in the mornings, where to spend your happy hour (be it a cold Medalla beer or a specialty Rum Punch), and which Restaurants are open for Lunch or Dinner, as well as where to get Take Out for an evening at home.
Caffeine Roy’s at the pink house in Isabel II 787-741-0685 serves delicious coffee specialties during the day. In the afternoon and evening, it transforms seamlessly from coffee bar to cocktail lounge. On the South side, Belly Buttons Cafe in Esperanza offers coffee and breakfast. Other spots for java include local panaderias (bakeries La Viequense and Lydia, both in Isabel II and La Dulce Esperanza on the south side) where black coffee is served strong in demitasse cups and cafe con leche (with steamed milk) is a delicious tradition. Popular Bars When it’s time for something cold, Vieques offers lots of options. Most resorts and restaurants have liquor licenses and can serve you the beverage of your choice. Other locations skip the food. Particularly popular and distinctive bars include The Palms at Bravo Beach Hotel, Al’s Mar Azul with its spectacular view of Isabel’s harbor, El Sombrero Viejo near the post office and La Nasa in Esperanza. Also popular spots for a quick libation are several of the island’s colmados (stop- and-go-markets), such as the Green Store in Esperanza, Mambo, close to Destino, and El Encanto and La Gran Parada in Florida. Visitors are always welcome. Restaurants Stay tuned... our restaurant section is coming soon. |
